Five-star freshman QB Justin Fields had a big day Saturday in Georgia’s G-Day Game.

Fields led the Black team to a 21-13 victory over Jake Fromm’s Red team, and Fields simply makes things look effortless at times. Standing 6-foot-3 and 225 pounds, he freakishly will remind you of Cam Newton. Although Fromm will likely get the opening day nod, Fields won’t be far behind, and in fact, he may be too good to keep off the field; his athleticism gives Georgia’s offense a weapon it hasn’t had.

While many are buzzing about Fields’ performance, Kirby Smart cautioned everyone following the spring game, saying that Fields was going against the No. 2 defense (via 11AliveSports on Twitter).

Fields finished 18-of-33 for 207 yards, one TD and one INT, while Fromm finished 19-of-38 for 200 yards, one TD and two INTs.

Following the spring game, Fromm was asked about Fields’ performance, and he seemed impressed. Of course, Fromm competes against him everyday in practice.

“He did great,” Fromm said of Fields, via 247Sports. “He ran around, made a lot of plays. He did really well for his team and I’m excited to see where he’s going.”

With Fromm and Fields, Georgia has one of the best QB positions in all of college football.
