With fall camp set to commence in Athens, Georgia will be without two key defensive linemen for the start of the festivities. Freshmen signees Robert Beal and Devonte Wyatt have not had a change in their statuses and still await clearance to be admitted to school in Athens.

During his Monday morning press conference, Georgia coach Kirby Smart offered up no new information on either player.

“I don’t have any updates on Robert Beal or Devonte Wyatt — that’s still an ongoing process, and a lot of places across the country are experiencing the same thing, waiting on guys to qualify and get eligible,” Smart said.

Both players rated as four-star prospects in Georgia’s 2017 signing class. Beal was the highest rated defensive lineman to sign with UGA in the class. The program’s late addition of junior college wide receiver Ahkil Crumpton suggests the team likely isn’t counting on both defensive linemen qualifying in time for the season.
