The Georgia Bulldogs beat the Clemson Tigers on Saturday night, and did so without special teams coordinator Scott Cochran on the sidelines.
Cochran has been away from the team since mid-July “dealing with health issues” and working on his mental health. Former South Carolina coach Will Muschamp has been filling in for Cochran.
On Tuesday, coach Kirby Smart said he spoke to Cochran before Saturday’s win. He added that the assistant coach seems to be doing well:
A brief update on Scott Cochran: He and Kirby Smart spoke just before the Clemson game.
"He seems to be doing well, and looking forward to getting him back here," Smart said.

Hopefully, Cochran is able to return to his post soon. For now, though, it appears his absence will continue as the Dawgs prepare for Saturday’s game against UAB.
