The Georgia Bulldogs took a massive blow this past weekend, as they were once again bested by the Alabama Crimson Tide, this time at home in a loss that snapped what had been an SEC record-setting 33-game home win streak.

Now, the Dawgs will have to lick their wounds and regroup in hopes of rallying in a similar fashion to the way they did last season when the Tide beat them. This process will begin this weekend against the Kentucky Wildcats.

Georgia head coach Kirby Smart opened up the week with his Monday press conference and was asked about what he’s seen from his team in the wake of yet another heartbreaking loss to their rivals.

“Our guys are fired up. Got work done yesterday,” Smart said. “… I think when you see our guys, you see how invested they are when they hurt.”

Losses like this are always going to sting, but the measure of any team is how they respond to getting punched in the gut. Last year’s Georgia squad rallied to win the entire conference and make the College Football Playoff, so it will be interesting to see whether this year’s squad can do the same.
