Georgia’s situation at quarterback has been quite a ride in 2020. Stetson Bennett claimed the job throughout the first half of the season after entering for D’Wan Mathis in Week 1 but was pulled for Mathis after suffering an injury in the loss to Florida on Saturday.

While the Bulldogs go back and forth, former 5-star prospect and USC transfer JT Daniels waits in the wings.

Georgia head coach Kirby Smart provided an update on Tuesday, hitting on every quarterback along with the depth chart.

“All I’m going to say on the QBs is that they have gotten work,” said Smart, according to Dawg Post. “Carson (Beck) has gotten work. JT (Daniels) has gotten work. D’Wan (Mathis) has gotten work.

“The juice on the offensive side of the ball has been good. George Pickens has been out there”

According to Seth Emerson of The Athletic, Smart did not give a QB pecking order, adding that Bennett has not been able to throw.

Bennett struggled greatly on Saturday in the 44-28 loss to Florida, going 5-of-16 for just 78 yards, a touchdown and an interception. Mathis was not much better, going 4-of-13 for 34 yards, a touchdown and two interceptions. Daniels has yet to make an impact for Georgia this season.

The next two weeks provide opportunities for the Dawgs to bounce back on offense, with games against Missouri and Mississippi State upcoming. The remainder of the schedule is a much lighter load for Georgia, as they round out the 10-game slate with South Carolina and Vanderbilt.
