Kirk Herbstreit names 2 SEC programs among top 7 performing teams from Week 8

Kirk Herbstreit is out with his top teams from Week 8, and 2 of them hail from the SEC.
Oregon and Oklahoma State were the top teams for the ESPN analyst, but he also named LSU as the No. 3 coming out of Saturday, and South Carolina as the No. 6 team.
LSU is coming off a solid victory over Ole Miss which propelled the Tigers into first place in the SEC West. The Gamecocks similarly had a strong win over Texas A&M, the first for the program.
Jayden Daniels ran for 3 touchdowns and passed for 2 more as LSU roared back from an early two-touchdown deficit to give the Rebels their first loss this season, 45-20.
The Gamecocks, meanwhile, won 30-24 on Saturday night and received their first ranking in 4 years.
The Gamecocks returned the opening kickoff for a touchdown and turned a fumble and interception deep in Aggies territory into 10 more points to build a 17-0 lead barely 5 minutes into the game.
