Kirk Herbstreit had plaudits for an SEC coach as he released his top-performers from Week 9’s college football games.

That was none other than Josh Heupel, which has Tennessee humming ahead of a massive Week 10 game at Georgia. The Volunteers have done a total about-face after the former UCF coach took over for the fired Jeremy Pruitt ahead of the 2021 season, moving to 8-0 after a 44-6 laugher against Kentucky. The game saw Jalin Hyatt make 2 touchdown catches, giving him a school-record 14 on the season with 4 games still remaining in the regular season. Tennessee led 7-6 after the 1st quarter but outscored the Wildcats 37-0 over the final 3 quarters.

The Volunteers are tied with Ohio State at No. 2 in the AP top 25. They will find themselves in the top 4 of the College Football Playoff Top 25 for the 1st time in program history when the initial 2022 rankings are released on Tuesday. On Saturday, they visit Sanford Stadium and Georgia, the top-ranked team in the media poll.
