Matt Corral is entering his junior season at Ole Miss but no one would be surprised if this is his last season with the Rebels. Corral is coming off of a strong redshirt sophomore season, and, if healthy, could forego his remaining eligibility to enter the 2022 NFL Draft.
ESPN analyst Kirk Herbstreit sees Corral’s draft stock potentially taking off this fall. Herbstreit mentioned Corral when talking about 2022 draft class QBs on “The Adam Schefter Podcast.”
“I would say the Matt Corral kid at Ole Miss really has a chance to take off and maybe go to another level,” Herbstreit said, per 247Sports. “He’s in an offense with Lane (Kiffin) and what they do is going to give him a chance to put up big numbers. People forget how highly touted he was when he came out of high school. I mean he was as big of a name in the high school game as there was and he had some struggles early, and he eventually found his way. He would be one.”
Corral seems to be in the perfect offense to put together an impressive draft resume. We’ll see how things go this fall.
