Jalen Hurts is once again the talk of college football.
Hurts exploded onto the scene at Alabama as a freshman and sophomore, but after struggling in the first half of the College Football Playoff national championship last year, he was replaced by the phenom Tua Tagovailoa, who has had a Heisman-like 2018 season. After Hurts lost the starting job, there was so much speculation about where he’ll transfer even before the season is over. Hurts, however, proved everyone wrong, and stayed at Alabama.
The roles were reversed Saturday, as Hurts came in to replace the injured Tagovailoa and amazingly saved Alabama’s perfect season. Hurts led two scoring drives to give the Tide a 35-28 win over Georgia.
For Alabama, the QB duo swapped roles. For Georgia, it received the same result.
Following his performance, Kirk Herbstreit showered Hurts with praise:
What an INCREDIBLE example for kids out there that think leaving for greener pastures after seeing 1st sign of adversity is the answer!! Jalen Hurts has shown amazing fortitude all year and has been an AMAZING leader and SUPPORTER of his teammates! And NOW saves his teams dreams!
