Kirk Herbstreit is out with his latest top 4, and made a somewhat eyebrow-raising selection at No. 1.
The ESPN analyst pegged Washington at No. 1 because the Huskies are the most dominant team, while Georgia, which is No. 1 in most other major rankings, sits at No. 2 for Herbstreit. The Bulldogs, who dispatched of UAB on Saturday, are the most talented team in Herbstreit’s eyes. Georgia, for example, is No. 1 in the coaches poll and ESPN’s power rankings.
Florida State may have Herbstreit’s best resume as the No. 3 Seminoles have wins over LSU in Orlando, and at Clemson. Meanwhile, Texas, which has a major win at Alabama, which disrupted the college football universe, checks in at No. 4.
The teams on the outside looking in are Michigan, which hasn’t lived up to Herbstreit’s standard offensive yet, and Ohio State, which he said has its best football ahead of it.
My top 4 AFTER week 4
