Kool-Aid McKinstry was the No. 1 cornerback in the class of 2021 and the No. 1 overall recruit from the state of Alabama.
He chose to head to Tuscaloosa to play for Nick Saban and the Crimson Tide, and he’s making an impact already.
In the first quarter of Saturday’s game against Mercer, McKinstry came flying in to intercept a tipped pass — his first pick in an Alabama uniform:

Alabama is only up 21-0 on the Bears early in the second quarter, so we’re sure Saban is none too happy with his offense.
However, McKinstry and the defense are holding their own against the FCS Mercer squad. We’ll see how many more picks McKinstry racks up as an Alabama player over the next couple of years.
