Add another former SEC player to Lane Kiffin’s roster.

The Florida Atlantic coach has taken in former Arkansas quarterback Rafe Peavey as a graduate transfer. He’s eligible to play immediately, and was cleared before practice on Tuesday when he was in on the action, the Palm Beach Post reported.

Peavey initially left Arkansas for SMU, but not before a mutually classy gesture between the quarterback and former coach Bret Bielema. Before he left the Razorbacks, Peavey was set to be Austin Allen’s backup. He hasn’t yet lived up to the kind of hype that saw him be listed as Missouri’s top-rated quarterback and an Under Armour All-American in 2014.

Since Fayetteville, Peavey appeared in three games last season at SMU, and was 4-for-4 for 116 yards and one touchdown. The Post reported that redshirt junior De’Andre Johnson is currently battling redshirt freshman Chris Robison for the starting quarterback job. Indiana transfer quarterback Nick Tronti also joined the team this offseason, but will sit out this season because of NCAA transfer rules.

Former Auburn players Kyle Davis and John Franklin III also previously transferred to FAU.
