Bret Bielema sends off departed QB Rafe Peavey with a classy message
After some initial hesitation, sophomore quarterback Rafe Peavey decided to transfer out of Arkansas late Tuesday evening.
Heading into the offseason, Peavey was the favorite to backup the Razorbacks’ starting quarterback Austin Allen but had seemingly been passed up by at least one other quarterback on the roster, likely leading to the decision to move on to SMU.
Once the decision had been made public, Arkansas head coach Bret Bielema sent out his well wishes to Peavey:
#WoooPig always & best wishes. Great person and bright future! https://t.co/5xkwiCMum7

Peavey came to Arkansas as Missouri’s top-rated quarterback and an Under Armour All-American in 2014 but leaves Fayetteville without ever throwing a pass for the Razorbacks.
