Lane Kiffin has tense press conference exchange with reporter who called him a ‘hoe’ before Egg Bowl
Lane Kiffin’s life right now as the head coach at Ole Miss is slightly off, because all of the rumors and all of the waiting have made it that way even as his Rebels wrapped up an 11-1 regular season on Friday afternoon with a 38-19 victory at rival Mississippi State.
Kiffin is expected to pick between Ole Miss and LSU on Saturday. But that doesn’t mean everything was in order on Friday after the victory — it was quite the opposite, actually, because Kiffin went after Ben Garrett, who covers Ole Miss for On3. Earlier this week on the Talk Of Champions podcast, Garrett said of Kiffin jumping from job to job during his career that you “can’t turn a hoe into a housewife; hoes don’t act right.”
First, Kiffin confronted Garrett outside the confines of the postgame press conference, saying to the reporter: “You wanna walk in here and call me a hoe? We’ll see how it goes.”
Then came the actual press conference confrontation between Kiffin and Garrett.
“It’s not calling you a hoe; it’s about commitment,” Garrett said to Kiffin in front of other reporters.
Kiffin had his reply ready for that.
“I actually don’t know your name,” said Lane Kiffin before moving on to the next question.
