Lane Kiffin and the Ole Miss Rebels held their annual Grove Bowl spring scrimmage on Saturday afternoon in Oxford.

Although the quarterback play wasn’t what Kiffin may have wanted, there were some standouts on the offensive side of the ball, including USC transfer TE Michael Trigg.

Trigg, who caught 2 touchdowns in the game, drew praise from Kiffin after the game (via On3 Sports):

“He’s kind of done that all camp,” Kiffin said. “He’s just very unique. Ball skills, catching range. Basically, what you saw today, he’s done whenever he’s been healthy.”

If Ole Miss can get either Jaxson Dart or Luke Altmyer to take control of the quarterback position, Trigg could have a big 2022 campaign.

We’ll see if he continues to impress this summer as the 2022 season approaches.
