Lane Kiffin is used to getting questions about the Ole Miss quarterbacks, and not only from the media, but also his son, Knox.

Luke Altmyer and Jaxson Dart are too close to lead Kiffin to an announcement.

“…I answer these (questions) every day from Knox. He Facetimes me every day asking what’s going on with the quarterbacks, so I feel like I have practice at this. He says, ‘Well you really know, so just tell me.’ I really don’t know,” Kiffin said, via Inside the Rebels. “Again, you can be frustrated or you can be glass half empty or glass can be full. You know what? If there was a big difference then one of them’s not been doing very well. So I look at it as both are doing well, creating a hard situation which is a good thing to happen.”

“I know it sounds the same. They are very close. I feel like every day you could go out there and say one, and the next day the other. It’s been difficult, which is a good thing,” Kiffin said.

Kiffin also got a chance to review Ole Miss’ most recent scrimmage as classes began on Monday and the team shifts its focus to Troy now less than 2 weeks away.

“I thought there were some really good things,” Kiffin said. “We had a number of injuries defensively and still gave up some explosive plays, which obviously whenever one side does good there’s an issue with the other side. I thought that the speed of the offense was good and the mechanics with it. But again, we played without a few significant defensive players.”
