LaNorris Sellers and South Carolina haven’t had the best of seasons. After a 9-4 record in 2024 and a Top 25 preseason ranking, the Gamecocks have stumbled to a 3-7 record and are well out of bowl consideration.
One moment, though, may stand out for the Gamecocks QB.
South Carolina is playing host to Coastal Carolina at Williams-Brice Stadium on Saturday, a week after blowing a 30-3 halftime lead to Texas A&M. Things got off to a quick start — with quick meaning first-play-from-scrimmage quick. The very first pass Sellers threw was to his brother, Jayden, a simple screen that the true freshman took to the house for a 75-yard touchdown.
Here’s the video:
Jayden Sellers started the day with 13 catches for 143 yards, including 4 receptions for 48 yards against Texas A&M. Saturday, though, marked his first career touchdown catch, with the fact that it was his older brother throwing it to him making it extra special.
The younger Sellers put together a notable high school career of his own, winning a pair of state championships while at South Florence (S.C.). That included 2022’s title, the first in program history. That year, Jayden totaled 827 yards and 12 touchdowns with his brother behind center.
He tore his ACL as a junior but returned in 2024, posting 14 touchdowns and 59 catches for just over 1,000 yards.
