LaNorris Sellers finds wide-open Nyck Harbor for TD to give South Carolina early lead over Mizzou

South Carolina did not break the scoring ice in Saturday’s Mayor’s Cup clash, but the Gamecocks had the lead at the conclusion of their first drive.
Mizzou went 10 plays, 57 yards to set up a field goal to go up 3-0. The Gamecocks answered with a touchdown.
South Carolina needed just 6 plays to go 75 yards on its first possession. The drive was capped by LaNorris Sellers connecting with Nyck Harbor for a 26-yard touchdown. Harbor was wide open on the play, and Sellers did not miss.

For Harbor, it’s his second receiving score of the season. He entered the game with a 2024 stat line of 14 catches for 147 yards and 1 touchdown. His other receiving TD came in the 27-25 heartbreaking loss at Alabama.
Sellers spread the ball around on South Carolina’s opening drive. He was a perfect 3-of-3 for 70 yards, connecting with Harbor (26 yards), Joshua Simon (30 yards) and Gage Larvadain (14 yards).
Since Harbor’s touchdown, Mizzou answered with another score. The Tigers cut the Gamecocks’ lead to 7-6 with a second field goal. MU again went 57 yards on 10 plays to to put 3 more points on the board.
