SEC Network sideline analyst Cole Cubelic joined Arkansas’ Sports Talk with Bo Mattingly on Friday afternoon to break down the Razorbacks’ upcoming home game against Auburn on Saturday.
Cubelic said Arkansas could have a chance against the No. 21 Tigers if it is able to slow down the powerful backfield from down on the plains.
“If Paul Rhoads and that Arkansas defense can slow down the Auburn rushing attack, they’ll have a chance to win this football game,” he said. “Now, they might not be able to generate enough offensively to really go out and do it, but if they can make Auburn a team that has to throw to win, and get them to third-and-8 or third-and-12 — because the Auburn tackles have struggled in one-on-ones — there a couple guys like Randy Ramsey, who, if given opportunities consistently on third-and-8, third-and-10 or third-and 12, to rush the passer out on the edge, they’re going to win some of those.
“I think it all comes down to slowing down Kerryon Johnson and that Auburn rushing attack,” Cubelic added. “If the Hogs can find a way to do that, I do believe they can find a way to put themselves in a position to win this game.”
Arkansas and Auburn kick off in Fayetteville at 7:30 p.m. ET on the SEC Network.
