Todd Grantham, currently Florida’s defensive coordinator, held the same position at Georgia at 2010-13 (in fact, a photo from this time is currently being used as the primary image on his Wikipedia page). During his four years at UGA, the Bulldogs were known for giving up first-down conversions in third-and-long situations. The situations became known as “third-and-Grantham.”

With Grantham facing his old team this week, the Florida communications staff decided to take on “third-and-Grantham” in UF’s game notes. This week’s notes include a section called “Third-and-Grantham: With a Vengeance” highlighting that his defenses have done quite well on third downs since he left Athens:

The communications writers have had some fun this season, throwing occasional shots at rivals. Earlier in the season, the game notes included a not-too-subtle troll of turnover props used by Florida State and Miami.

UGA may get the last laugh if the game comes down to converting a third down to seal the win. We’ll find out this Saturday at 3:30 p.m. ET.
