Vanderbilt and Alabama don’t play very often, as they aren’t division crossover rivals, but when they do, there’s often a memorable moment or two.
Last time the Commodores and Crimson Tide met (back in 2011), Alabama S Mark Barron delivered a huge hit to a Vanderbilt player.
As you can see below, the Commodores were trying to run an option play, and the ballcarrier got crushed by Barron:

That “someone” was former Vanderbilt QB Jordan Rodgers. The SEC Network analyst responded on Twitter, recalling the infamous play:
??♂️that was me…and yes it hurt, popped right up but had no clue where I was, and my ear pad was on my forehead https://t.co/DeaBEmsrzZ

That year’s Alabama team went on to win 34-0, but this season’s Vanderbilt squad seems to be better than the 2011 squad.
Will the results be different this time around? Tune in to CBS on Saturday afternoon at 2:30 p.m. Central time to find out.
