Out of William Penn Charter, Gilhool is listed as measuring 6-10, 205 pounds. On the 247Sports Composite, Gilhool is rated 4-stars, the No. 2 player in the state of Pennsylvania, No. 24 power forward and No. 112 prospect overall in the Class of 2025.
Gilhool picked up scholarship offers from 15 programs during his recruitment. Georgia, Maryland, Miami, Penn State, Rutgers, Virginia Tech, Washington and Wisconsin are among the programs that showed interest. For Tuesday’s commitment announcement, Gilhool narrowed it down to LSU, Alabama, Mississippi State, Tennessee, Georgia Tech and Iowa.
“I just like what Coach McMahon has going on,” Gilhool told On3’s Joe Tipton about his big decision. “I think there’s a lot of good stuff for the future with LSU. Just the amount of love they were showing me. They were always hitting me up, always calling me, and they’ve been recruiting me the hardest. I thought that was really important.”
McMahon signed a class that ranked No. 14 nationally on the Composite for 2024. The Tigers have 4 true freshmen out of high school and 3 transfers out of the portal on board for the upcoming 2024-25 season.
