LSU is expected to land a commitment from former Kentucky receiver Barion Brown out of the transfer portal.

That’s according to a trio of recruiting experts from On3, who all logged predictions for the Tigers to land Brown’s signature on Thursday evening.

Brown spent the last 3 seasons with the Wildcats and was a contributor in each year. He initially signed with the Wildcats as a 4-star prospect in the class of 2022. His offer list out of high school included programs like Alabama, Ole Miss, Texas, Miami, Auburn and more.

As a freshman, Brown burst onto the scene with 50 catches for 628 yards and 4 touchdowns. However, his production has fallen off over the past couple of seasons as Kentucky’s passing game has been worse overall. This past season, Brown caught just 29 passes for 361 yards and 3 scores.

It’s likely he’d be in position to make a bigger impact in the LSU passing game, should he pick the Tigers. Quarterback Garrett Nussmeier has already announced his return for next season and LSU’s leading receiver from this past season, Kyren Lacy, is now out of collegiate eligibility.

There is no timetable for Brown’s official decision.
