LSU earned a major recruiting win on Sunday afternoon, adding to what was already an elite 2025 recruiting class.

The Tigers picked up a commitment from 4-star cornerback Kade Phillips. A Texas native, Phillips was previously committed to the Longhorns before flipping his commitment.

Phillips is a huge get for the Tigers in the class of 2025. He’s the No. 187 overall player and the21 cornerback in the country for the class of 2025, per 247Sports Composite rankings. He’s also the No. 27 player from the state of Texas.

Phillips had been committed to Texas since July 6. He visited both Austin and Baton Rouge over the summer. He also picked up offers from programs like Michigan, Missouri and Texas A&M, amongst others.

Phillips attends Hightower High School in Missouri City, Texas. He’s listed at 6-foot, 175 pounds.

LSU has now added 2 2025 commitments in as many days. On Saturday, the Tigers landed a commitment from 3-star TE Mike Tyler.

LSU appears to be putting the finishing touches on an elite 2025 recruiting class. Phillips is commit No. 24 in this cycle for the Tigers. The class includes a trio of 5-star prospects, including No. 1 overall player Bryce Underwood.

Overall, LSU’s class sits at No. 3 in the national rankings, per 247Sports Composite rankings. Only Ohio State and Alabama have higher-rated classes at this point in the 2025 cycle.
