LSU continued to construct its 2026 roster for Lane Kiffin‘s first season in Baton Rouge, getting a commitment on Friday night from Colorado offensive tackle transfer Jordan Seaton.

ESPN insider Pete Thamel reported that Seaton was headed to the SEC for the 2026 season. According to Thamel, Seaton is ESPN’s 4th-ranked player overall in the transfer portal, so LSU and Kiffin are reportedly getting a top portal prize to help solidify the Tigers’ offensive line next fall.

Thamel also reported that Seaton projects as “a top NFL Draft prospect in 2027.” That’s a long way away, with Seaton set to help LSU bounce back from a miserable 2025 season that saw Brian Kelly get fired as head coach. Kiffin arrived from SEC rival Ole Miss, and now he would be getting his hands on the top offensive tackle in the portal, according to ESPN’s rankings.

The 6-foot-5, 330-pound Seaton chose LSU over Mississippi State, with powerhouse programs Miami and Oregon also in the mix. Seaton would have 2 more seasons of eligibility at LSU, although as Thamel reported he’s destined to be a first-round pick in the 2027 NFL Draft.

Seaton was originally one of Colorado’s highest-rated signees in program history, as a 5-star recruit from the Class of 2024. He was a mainstay at left tackle for the Buffaloes over his first 2 seasons in Boulder, starting 22 games.

Kiffin reportedly getting Seaton to head to Baton Rouge means that LSU will have lured 3 of ESPN’s top 6 transfers during this portal cycle. The other 2 elite transfers heading to LSU are quarterback Sam Leavitt and pass rusher Princewill Umanmielen.

In all, Kiffin and the Tigers have brought in a whopping 40 new players from the transfer portal during the month of January.
