LSU prepared to make massive $90 million offer to Lane Kiffin, per report
LSU is ready to make Lane Kiffin a $90 million offer to lure the Ole Miss head coach to Baton Rouge, according to a report on Friday night by Ross Dellenger of Yahoo Sports.
According to Dellenger’s report, LSU would also be offering “roster cash worth around $25 million annually.”
Kiffin met on Friday with Ole Miss chancellor Glenn Boyce and athletic director Keith Carter, according to the report. Carter explained that Kiffin’s final decision on his destination for 2026 would be announced after the Egg Bowl rivalry game against Mississippi State in Week 14.
The Kiffin saga has dragged into mid-November, as the head coach of 1 of the top teams in college football is poised to leave Ole Miss and potentially for an SEC rival school like LSU. But Florida is also pursuing Kiffin’s services for next year, making this storyline 1 to watch as we hit Week 13 and beyond.
According to Friday night’s Dellenger report, LSU is prepared to make Kiffin a very rich man going forward, with a lot of roster leeway, if he chooses to accept the challenge. LSU fired Brian Kelly last month as the Tigers’ season spiraled out of control.
LSU is playing out the string to a forgettable season, but it’s ready to start a new era with Kiffin and prepared to pay a lot of money to get him.
