LSU has made a host of changes to its coaching staff in the offseason, and with only days left until the season opener against UCLA, the Tigers made one more.

Coach Ed Orgeron’s program has hired Mario Acitelli as an offensive analyst to work with first-year offensive coordinator Jake Peetz, Football Scoop reported. Acitelli will arrive at LSU from Elon, where he was in his second year as the special teams coordinator and worked with tackles and tight ends.

He replaces Kyle Caskey, who left recently for a job with the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Acitelli’s experience includes a pair of stints on Mack Brown’s staffs, for 3 years at Texas as a graduate assistant, and in 2019 at North Carolina as an analyst.

His familiarity with the LSU staff comes through new quarterbacks coach DJ Mangas, as the two served several years together on staff at William & Mary.

The move for LSU continues an offseason of considerable change, including Peetz and defensive coordinator Daronte Jones, respectively, as well as Mangas, offensive line coach Brad Davis, linebackers coach Blake Baker and defensive line coach Andre Carter.
