LSU already has one of the nation’s best strength coaches on staff in Tommy Moffitt but that apparently won’t stop the Tigers from exploring the possibility of adding another one of the nation’s best strength coaches to work alongside Moffitt.

According to FootballScoop, LSU is close to hiring former Florida State head strength coach Vic Viloria. The Tigers are meeting with Viloria Tuesday. While a deal has yet to be reached, it could be happening soon according to FootballScoop.

Viloria ran the FSU strength program the last eight years under Jimbo Fisher. He was among the candidates rumored to be involved at Tennessee before the Vols hired Craig Fitzgerald away from the Houston Texans.

Fisher decided not to take Viloria to College Station and the assistant coach was not retained by new FSU coach Willie Taggart. He is a Louisiana native, which certainly shouldn’t hurt his popularity among the LSU faithful.
