LSU sophomore guard Brandon Rachal announces transfer from Will Wade’s program

LSU is expected to be one of the SEC’s most improved teams on the court next season but will have to do so without the services of Brandon Rachal.

After a season in which he played the second-most minutes of all freshmen on Will Wade’s first LSU squad, Rachal has announced his plans to leave the program after only one season.

The Natchitoches, La., native appeared in 27 games last season and averaged 4.4 points and 3.3 rebounds as a true freshman. He reached double figures in two games and had 11 steals in the final three games of his LSU career. At this point, Rachal has not indicated where he will continue his college basketball career.
