LSU suffers decommitment from 2019 four-star prospect Derek Stingley Jr.
LSU has gotten off to an outstanding start to building its 2019 recruiting class, the Tigers currently have two five-star prospects and one four-star prospect currently committed to the 2019 cycle, but have recently suffered a defection from the group.
Baton Rouge native Derek Stingley Jr. announced his decommitment from the school Friday morning via Twitter. Here’s the full statement Stingley put out announcing his decision:

From the note, it doesn’t sound like the Tigers are completely out of the running for his services. However, Stingley has begun to pile up some impressive offers in recent months, which appears to have given him some second thoughts. Alabama, Florida, Tennessee, and Florida State have all extended scholarship offers to the 6-foot, 170-pound defensive back prospect since his original commit to the Bayou Bengals.
Considering he still has well over a year of high school before reaching his senior season on the prep field, LSU has plenty of time to get the Baton Rouge native back on board with his hometown school.
