LSU could soon be bringing another member of the Nussmeier family to Baton Rouge.
The Tigers are trending up for 4-star quarterback prospect Colton Nussmeier, according to a report from Rivals’ Sam Spiegelman and Steve Wiltfong. Both recruiting experts are predicting LSU will earn a commitment from Nussmeier — Garrett’s younger brother.
Nussmeier is one of the best quarterback prospects in the country for the class of 2027. He’s currently the No. 70 overall player and the No. 5 quarterback per 247Sports Composite rankings. He’s also rated as the No. 10 player from the state of Texas.
Like his brother Garrett, Colton attends Marcus High School in Flower Mound, Texas. He’s listed at 6-foot-3, 185 pounds.

Nussmeier would be a huge addition for the Tigers. He’s already received offers from programs such as Florida, Alabama, Auburn and plenty more. Although there’s still plenty of time left in the 2027 recruiting cycle, it’s clear Colton has become a priority for the Tigers.
There is no publicly-known timetable for Nussmeier to make his commitment.
