LSU trolls Paul Finebaum after downing No. 4 Clemson

No one in college football had a tougher day than Paul Finebaum. After Texas was handled by Ohio State, Finebaum was roasted for showering Texas and Arch Manning with love all preseason. Ric Flair tweeted at Finebaum multiple times throughout the day, saying, “I’m embarrassed for you,” after Alabama lost to Florida State.

But even when an SEC team won, Finebaum still found himself on the wrong side of a joke.

Following LSU’s 17-10 win over Clemson on the road, the Tigers’ social media team recirculated a clip from earlier in the week when Finebaum claimed life would “become very miserable” for head coach Brian Kelly when the Tigers lost to Clemson.

“See you next week PAWLLL,” LSU’s social team wrote in a post.

“I like Clemson to win this game,” Finebaum said earlier in the week on ESPN’s Get Up. “I’m a little concerned that Clemson’s elite defensive front is going to get in there and create havoc for (Garrett) Nussmeier.”

Clemson finished the game with 8 tackles for loss but only 1 sack on Saturday. LSU outgained Clemson on a per-play basis while holding Clemson to 2.9 yards per carry (adjusted for sacks). And it was LSU’s defensive front that caused havoc at the end of the game, forcing an incompletion from Clemson’s Cade Klubnik on a fourth-and-4 that effectively killed off the game.

Finebaum will certainly have plenty to talk about over the next week.

After the Alabama game went final, Finebaum took to social media and shared the phone number fans can use to call in to his show on Monday, “just in case.”
