LSU’s DJ Chark implies there’s no need to be selfish when it comes to Tigers’ offense

LSU wide receiver DJ Chark has no issue with running backs stepping up in the Tigers’ passing game.
It’s all about whatever gives the Bayou Bengals the best chance to win the game.
Against Ole Miss, Tigers running backs — particularly Darrel Williams with 105 yards — accounted for most of the team’s production in terms of catching the ball.
The swing pass to Williams was working well that day. However, as Chark points out, that wasn’t the case against Auburn one week prior — a game in which Chark had a career-high for receiving yards.
He was asked if the lack of touches last Saturday bothered him.
“No, because the week before, the receivers had a pretty big game. I had a career-high. It depends on what’s working that day,” Chark said. “If I’m selfish in a game like Ole Miss, then the running could be selfish for a game like Auburn. It’s all about winning. As long as we’re winning, the team is excited … We’re just ready to get on to the next week and the next game.
“Whatever it takes to win, I’m pretty sure nobody is going to be complaining about how we get it.”
The quotes above come from Chark’s Wednesday meeting with the LSU media. The video below is from Mike Gegenheimer of The Advocate.
DJ Chark doesn’t mind RBs taking over pass game. Can’t be selfish when RBs have big game bc they’ll be selfish when WRs have a big game #LSU pic.twitter.com/nwiz8iqjef
