Luther Burden III has been in the news a lot during the early part of the rookie camp for the Chicago Bears, and it hasn’t always been for positive reasons.

He dealt with some injury issues right after he was drafted, and new Bears coach Ben Johnson voiced that he was worried that Burden was falling behind with his development.

However, the coaching staff appears to be earning that trust and showing he is picking things up like he needs to be. NFL Insider Jordan Schultz reported that Bears’ coaches are pleased with how he’s developing in his first training camp:

Burden was drafted with the hopes of pairing him with last season’s No. 10 pick, Rome Odunze to give Caleb Williams two young, talented wide receivers who can help him reach his potential.

During his three years at Missouri, Burden put together one of the best careers for any Missouri receiver. He finished with 192 catches for 2,263 receiving yards and 21 touchdowns. He had a streak during his college career where he had at least one catch in 34 consecutive games.
