Luther Burden enjoyed a good start to his college football career despite later suffering an ankle injury that hampered his progress and ultimately failing to find much involvement in Eli Drinkwitz’s offense at Missouri.
The Tigers freshman, though, may have sustained a major setback at Florida on Saturday. In the 3rd quarter, he remained on the ground after making a catch and was unable to put weight on his left leg and ankle. Trainers came out immediately to check on him and he left the contest.
Burden had made 5 catches for 20 yards before his departure. We’ll have to wait until later to hear the exact prognosis of the injury, but initially, things don’t look good for the former 5-star recruit from East Saint Louis, Ill.
