Major Burns is in line to take the field for No. 15 LSU as it hosts No. 6 Alabama on Saturday.
Burns hasn’t played since Sept. 17, when he suffered a neck injury against Mississippi State. But the defensive back has been officially cleared to return to practice on Monday, per Brian Kelly, and will play against the Crimson Tide.
Before his injury, Burns had made 17 tackles and 2.5 tackles for a loss. He was also credited with 2 passes defensed.
In 2021, his 1st year with the Tigers after transferring from Georgia, he made 25 tackles in 5 games while adding an interception. However, his season was cut short after a foot injury. The former 4-star recruit, a Baton Rouge native, spent the 2020 season with the Bulldogs and played in just 2 games before redshirting and heading home to the Bayou State.
Kickoff between LSU and Alabama on Saturday is set for 7 p.m. ET, with the game to be televised on ESPN.
