Makari Vickers, 4-star 2023 DB out of Florida, announces college commitment

Makari Vickers has made it a big day for Oklahoma recruiting. Hours after the Sooners landed a commitment from 4-star wide receiver Anthony Evans, Vickers gave Brent Venables’ staff another blue-chip pledge.

Vickers, a 4-star safety, announced his commitment to Oklahoma on Friday.

Out of Tallahassee, Florida, Vickers is the No. 6 safety, No. 19 Sunshine State product and No. 85 prospect overall in the class of 2023 on the 247Sports composite rankings. Vickers has picked up 33 scholarship offers during his recruitment. Heading into Friday’s commitment, Vickers narrowed it down to Oklahoma, Alabama and Michigan.

Vickers makes it 22 commitments in Oklahoma’s 2023 recruiting class, which is ranked No. 4 in the country. Vickers’ junior-season Hudl highlight reel can be viewed below:
