Marcel Reed is off to a hot start in The Swamp as Texas A&M has an early double-digit lead over Florida.

Reed, a redshirt freshman, is stepping in for Conner Weigman as the regular QB starter deals with an injury. Reed is clearly up for the task of starting Texas A&M’s SEC opener on the road.

On Texas A&M’s second possession, Reed found Theo Melin Ohrstrom in the end zone for a 29-yard touchdown. With the extra point, Texas A&M’s lead in Gainesville was extended to 10-0 in the 1st quarter.

In his first 2 possessions, Reed is 8-of-10 for 94 yards with the touchdown. A dual-threat, he has also shown off his wheels, rushing twice for 30 yards. Reed is spreading the ball around, finding 7 different Aggies for his 8 completions.

In the early going, it’s all Texas A&M. The Aggies have a 174-8 advantage in total yards after the 1st quarter. Le’Veon Moss has contributed 35 yards on 4 carries in the ground game.

The game is assigned to air on ABC. Upon entering the 2nd quarter, it was suspended due to weather in the area.
