Marcus Satterfield heard that Dakereon Joyner believes the South Carolina offense is more efficient going through fall camp this year, and the offensive coordinator believes there’s a clear reason for that.

Satterfield chalks up the improvement to another year with more of the same faces together.

“You put an offense in, it takes a while to take shape, especially with the different bodies playing quarterback, “Satterfield said. “Now we have consistency at the quarterback position. And just the verbiage, these kids have not had the same offensive coaches in consecutive years in like 4 years. So to have the same coaches for 2 consecutive years is only going to help them feel more in balance with what we’re doing on offense.”

In terms of the improvement from scrimmage to scrimmage and entering the first game week, Satterfield said the consistency and tempo improved in the second scrimmage.

“Our (starters) have done a nice job of taking care of the football, and really not having a lot of penalties,” he said. “I hope I didn’t jinx myself there, but just the cleanliness and when it came time to take a shot, we’re not doing anything detrimental to getting the ball off, or make a play.”
