Mark Stoops has provided an update on the latest with Liam Coen after the Kentucky offensive coordinator was hospitalized Sunday after a medical episode.
The health incident happened while Coen was working on campus in the football offices and he was sent to UK Chandler Hospital where he was deemed to be in good condition.
On Monday, Stoops used the anniversary of 9/11 to reflect on Coen and the gratitude he has for the first responders.
Stoops then alluded to the status of the 37-year-old Coen, who is in his first season with Kentucky and also serves as the quarterbacks coach.

Stoops added that this is difficult situation for the staff because of their bond with Coen.
On getting back to work whenever you have a situation like they had with Liam… Always tough, but really tough in this situation because the staff is so close. Coen has alternated working between Kentucky and the Los Angeles Rams since 2018. Coen was an assistant with the Rams from 2018-20 then joined Kentucky as offensive coordinator in 2021, before taking the same position with the Rams last season and now returning to Kentucky.
Akron at Kentucky is slated for Sept. 16 at 7:30 p.m. EST and will be televised on ESPNU.
