Martavious Collins, 4-star 2024 TE out of Georgia, announces SEC commitment

Martavious Collins, a 2024 4-star tight end out of Rome, Georgia, has announced a commitment to play in the SEC.
Collins, who is ranked as an athlete on 247Sports, but labeled himself a tight end, committed to Alabama. He has a reported 18 offers, and is ranked the No. 12 athlete in the class of 2024, and the No. 18 player in the state of Georgia, according to the 247Sports Composite. He’s listed at 6-foot-3 and 241 pounds.
The Crimson Tide won out in a battle of notable teams around the country. The other finalists were Auburn, LSU, South Carolina and Tennessee, and before that, the teams in the mix were Cincinnati, Louisville, Michigan State, NC State, Notre Dame and Ohio State.
Alabama offensive line coach Eric Wolford was listed as the primary recruiter while tight ends coach Joe Cox is listed as the secondary recruiter. Collins is the second recruit for Alabama in the 2024 cycle. Receiver Perry Thompson of Foley, Alabama is the other 2024 commit known for Alabama’s 2024 class. He does not yet have a star rating.
Collins in track and field recorded a 42.5 shot put and 124-8 discus as a freshman.
