The Maryland Terrapins have been embroiled in a controversy recently surrounding the death of OL Jordan McNair earlier this summer.

On Tuesday, university president Wallace Loh and AD Damon Evans held a press conference surrounding an investigation into the football program, and a couple of interesting items came from it.

First, Loh said the university accepts the legal and moral responsibility associated with McNair’s death:

Because of the findings, the Terrapins have dismissed strength and conditioning coach Rick Court, who was part of the workout that caused McNair’s death:

Court still received a payout as part of his settlement, and will get two-thirds of his remaining contract:

What the future holds for head coach DJ Durkin remains to be seen, but more information about this case is sure to come out in the next few days and weeks.
