June has started with a bang for the Crimson Tide on the 2017 recruiting trail.

Hours after Nick Saban landed wide receiver D.D. Bowie, the top-rated player out of Mississippi for the 2017 class, the Crimson Tide added another verbal commitment in four-star offensive tackle Netori Johnson.

Johnson, a 6-foot-5, 330-pound junior from Ellenwood, Ga., was one of Alabama’s primary targets up front for the 2017 cycle and committed over offers from Auburn, Kentucky and several other SEC programs.

“As soon as Nick Saban told me I had an offer, I asked him if I could commit, and that’s what I did,” Johnson told 247Sports.”I came down here with my coaches, not knowing this was going to happen. I went all out and tried my best. I love the environment and the coaches. They have a very good coaching staff that stayed on me and didn’t let me get tired or let me down. They send linemen to the draft, so this was a no-brainer.”

He announced the decision via Twitter:

According to 247Sports’ team rankings, Alabama sits at No. 4 in the nation for the 2017 class.
