Matt Corral decided not to opt out of Ole Miss’s Sugar Bowl appearance against Baylor this past season.
Unfortunately for the Rebels’ star QB, he suffered an ankle injury early in the game — one that he’s still not fully back from.
At the NFL Combine on Wednesday morning in Indianapolis, Corral said teams have been asking him about his decision to play. He added that he has never once regretted his decision to suit up for the Rebels’ bowl game:

“They asked me if I regretted it. Absolutely not,” Corral said. “I never thought about opting out until teammates came up to me and started asking me about it. It was never a thought in my mind. I was going to play regardless.”
The decision to opt out or not opt out will continue to be a big debate around college football. Corral made his choice, and others will make the decision they think is best for them. We’ll see in the 2022 NFL Draft next month how much stock teams put in Corral’s choice to suit up one last time with his teammates.
