CFB world erupts over Mac Jones, DeVonta Smith torching Mississippi State
By SDS Staff

The Alabama Crimson Tide are destroying Mississippi State 27-0 at halftime Saturday night.
For the Tide, it’s been the Mac Jones-to-DeVonta Smith show. Jones has connected on 17-of-23 passes for 217 yards and 3 touchdowns, with all 3 coming to Smith. The only person to outshine Jones has been Smith, who’s caught 9 passes for 159 yards and the 3 scores.
With Jaylen Waddle out for the season, Smith now becomes Jones’ go-to receiver, and that’s proving true tonight. Teams will attempt to take that connection away as the Tide move through the season; however, other weapons in Slade Bolden and John Metchie will make it difficult for defenses to key in on Smith.
Even Waddle was impressed with Smith’s third touchdown reception:

Mac Jones and Devonta Smith are as smooth as glass. They make offense look easy. Execution is at such a high level. Waddle is missed sure, but the #Bama offense is the best unit of it’s kind in all of college football. Good luck slowing them down. 20-0 Tide early 2nd
