The fourth College Football Playoff selection committee rankings were revealed Tuesday night on ESPN. Two of the biggest changes that stood out were Ohio State jumping to No. 1 over LSU and Baylor moving up five spots after beating a Texas team that already had four losses.
On Twitter, various CFB media members shared their reactions on those moves as well as what the new rankings mean for the postseason picture moving forward.
Here’s a sample of what they had to say on Tuesday night:
Ohio State now has 3 wins vs. CFP top 25 (Cincy, Wisconsin and PSU), so they have certainly made a case for the top spot, it's just that they turned it over three times.

Joey Galloway: "If you look at the analytics, LSU should be No. 1."@ESPN_BillC's SP+ rankings, which appear on ESPN's own Web site, have Ohio State No. 1.

The committee having Baylor jump from 14 to 9 after beating **checks notes** 6-5 Texas is bad news for Alabama

I'd love an LSU-Clemson game.

Thought this was in play at some point during the season, didn't think it would happen after this weekend.
Ohio State has #13 Michigan and #8 Minnesota or #12 Wisconsin left.
LSU has non ranked A&M and #4 UGA.
Razor thin margin if both win out for the #1 spot. https://t.co/DeXnXT3oWO

Did the same with Ohio State on my ballot this week. Added a top-10 win and it's a more balanced team clearly better defensively than LSU so far. Makes sense.

Been trying to tell you guys that there will be a flip flop at #1 and #2 down the stretch….

Baylor finally a top-10 team in the eyes of the committee. That helps OU. https://t.co/dlQJYPyYOh

So Baylor jumped 5 spots by beating 6-5 unranked Texas at home? Yet, previous week OU moved up only 1 spot by winning at No. 13 ranked Baylor. Okay

The bad news for #Utah/Pac-12 is its potential title game win over Oregon might not impress the committee as much as the Oklahoma-Baylor winner. The good news is this committee seems to emphasize complete performances, and Utah has been more dominant than the Big 12 contenders.

It’s strange to me that LSU lost the number one spot to Ohio State this week in CFb rankings, but I don’t think it matters a great deal. Conspiracy theorist in me would point out this allows the CFB playoff to avoid an LSU-Alabama rematch in the 1 vs 4 match up.

LSU has wins over No. 5, No. 11 and No. 15.
Ohio State has wins over No. 10, No. 12 and No. 19.
Ohio State has been more dominant on the whole.
This really isn't that controversial, guys. And they both have big games ahead and could flip again.
— Stewart Mandel (@slmandel) November 27, 2019
Sorry but this committee just lost some credibility by moving Baylor up 5 spots after beating a bad Texas team. https://t.co/xxuffZbebc

The #Gators are a Top 10 team and LSU is the best team in the country.
The rankings don’t reflect that and I don’t understand it.

College Football Playoff committee, EXACTLY why don't you like Virginia Tech? 24?! Won six of last seven, one loss came to Notre Dame on road by one, shut out Pitt last week.

Maybe if LSU crushes Georgia? They do have the best opportunity of ANY P5 team in a title game. https://t.co/SNtVIGLlVp

Good point by Jesse, UCLA common win helps Utah considerably. OU was impressive at the Rose Bowl but Bruins were much improved by time Utes played them… and then they destroyed them.

Observations:
– the committee likes Penn State more than I like bourbon and that’s obviously good for OSU
– Buckeyes have two top 15 opponents left & LSU has one top 5, so unsure we’ll see a swap back at 1-2
– Utah and OU still hasn’t jumped Bama, a good sign for the Tide— Ross Dellenger (@RossDellenger) November 27, 2019
