Media roasts Jeremy Pruitt, Tennessee after blowout loss to Kentucky

Kentucky did something Saturday that it hasn’t done since 1984 — win a game at Neyland Stadium, and the Cats blew out the Vols 34-7.

Coming into Saturday, Kentucky had lost 17 straight games in Knoxville, but that all changed and quickly.

Vols quarterback Jarrett Guarantano turned it over 3 times in the first half, including back-to-back pick-sixes. That got Guarantano benched for backup JT Shrout, and Shrout then threw an INT on the very next drive. Freshman quarterback Harrison Bailey also played in the 4th quarter.

Saturday marked the largest margin of victory for Kentucky over Tennessee since 1935.

Tennessee’s defense still couldn’t stop Kentucky in the second half, though, as the Wildcats outscored the Vols 17-0, and the Vols defense struggled tackling late.
