College football fans know that one of the most iconic entrances any team makes into its stadium before a home game happens at Virginia Tech, where the Hokies take the field to “Enter Sandman” by Metallica.
It truly is a breathtaking sight to behold, and the fans at Lane Stadium make it special week in and week out.
Well, this week, Metallica performed a show at Lane Stadium. As you’d expect, the best moment of the night was when fans got to hear “Enter Sandman” performed live by the legendary band:
What an incredible moment for the fans, and for the band, too. Metallica’s “Enter Sandman” is one of the most popular rock songs of the century, but even for them, seeing what it means to the people at Virginia Tech must be special.
An SEC team will be at Lane Stadium the next time the song is played, as Vanderbilt visits Virginia Tech in Week 2 of the 2025 regular season. The Commodores took down the Hokies in Nashville last year, but Virginia Tech will be eager to show that game was a fluke. We know the fans will be fired up and make the atmosphere tough for Diego Pavia and the Commodores.
