The Miami men’s basketball team will not be able to travel to Charlotte for ACC Tipoff as the state of Florida braces for Hurricane Milton, which is scheduled to make landfall as a Category 3 hurricane late Wednesday night near Sarasota.

The Hurricanes were originally scheduled to leave on Thursday.

The ACC Media Days are going on this week from Tuesday through Thursday in Charlotte.

Miami is just 2 seasons removed from going to the Final Four for the 1st time in program history. The Hurricanes reached the 2023 Final Four before falling to eventual national champion UConn in the national semifinals.

The Hurricanes reached the Elite Eight for the 1st time the season before in 2022 before falling to eventual national champion Kansas.

Jim Larrañaga will once again be at the helm of the Miami program this season. Larrañaga has been the head coach since 2011 and has led the Hurricanes to new heights with those 2 recent deep NCAA Tournament runs in 2022 and ’23.

Larrañaga has a record of 270-166 during his tenure at Miami, good for a .619 winning percentage.

The Hurricanes will tip off the season on Nov. 4 at home against Fairleigh Dickinson.
