Mike Hart collapsed on the Michigan sideline at Indiana on Saturday, and after he was taken to a local hospital, Michigan coach Jim Harbaugh released a statement that said Hart would stay overnight for observation.
The incident had Michigan players shocked and emotional on the sidelines. At halftime, Harbaugh said that he told his team “to play for Mike.”
Hart in the first quarter was carted off the field on a backboard and taken to a hospital for evaluation. No details have been given about Hart’s condition, but he gave a thumbs up sign before leaving the stadium.
“Mike is a strong guy and abundant prayers go his way,” Harbaugh said in the statement, and added that getting the care he needed to improve his health was the most important thing.

It was an especially emotional setting for both sidelines, as Hoosiers coach Tom Allen walked across the field to see Hart, who previously served on Indiana’s coaching staff.
